Our Meemaw always insisted that having a decorative chicken in your kitchen brought good luck and guaranteed that you would always have a chicken in your pot.
One of our favorite housewarming gifts to give is a ceramic chicken - we buy vintage chickens at thrift/antique shops whenever we see them -- or a galvanized metal chicken like the one we sell in our store, pictured here.
